The Founder of Tachicom-Kenya, now Dr. Otachi Orina was one of the PhD graduates of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Dr. Otachi becomes the youngest Leadership and Governance PhD holder in Kenya. He hopes to utilize the knowledge to better governance of institutions in Kenya and Africa at large. He was flanked by his supervisor Dr. Susan Were at a ceremony held on the 30th of November 2018 at Juja, Kiambu County. Speaking during the event, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ngumi lauded the students’ efforts and the progress made by the teaching fraternity to advance research. 

A Multi-Agency delegation from Rwanda held a three day study visit on the execution of judgements, administrative decisions and other executory orders within Kenya as from 10th – 13th of September, 2018. The delegation was led by the chairman of the Rwanda Law Reform Commission Mr. Aimable Havugiyaremye.  Other representatives were from Ministry of Justice, the Rwanda Development Board, the Rwanda Professional Bailiffs Association and the Rwanda Ombudsman Office.


During the visit hosted by the Kenya Law Reform Commission (KLRC), the delegation visited various institutions among them: Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice, The Assets Recovery Agency, The Commission for Administrative Justice, Parliament of Kenya (JLAC), Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration, The Office of the Chief Registrar of Judiciary (CRJ), The Law Society of Kenya, The Judiciary Rules Committee and The Auctioneers Licensing Board.


Speaking during the closing ceremony, the chair of the delegation Mr. Havugiyaremyewas grateful at the strides Kenya had made in development and reform of legislation towards greater justice and accountability. On his part. KLRC chairman Mr. Mbage Ng`ang`a lauded the efforts Rwanda had made towards increased access to learning and looked forward to enhanced future collaboration and partnerships.



Chairpersons and members of Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices held their sixth Annual Conference as from 25th to 27th September 2018 in Meru County. The key focus was on “Citizen Participation in Governance”. The various institutions used the occasion to showcase their efforts and results.
