The constitution introduces devolution with the arrangement of a national government and 47 county governments as a way of bringing the government closer to the grassroots. It also clarifies the roles and responsibilities for the three arms of government; the executive, the legislature and the judiciary who will each independently prepare and submit their respective budgets to parliament.Read more

 


Situational Analysis of Public-Private Dialogue in Kenya for the Development of Public-Private Dialo

 

 

The desire to have an institutionalized public-private dialogue framework is shared by both the government and private sector in Kenya, and has received support from some development partners in the country. The new Constitution has strengthened the importance of participatory approaches, inclusiveness, and public participation (Articles 10, 118, 174 and 201) and the need to institutionalize it in every respect of governance and public policy-making. The Vision 2030 calls upon the government to institute deeper engagement and closer cooperation with the private sector to catalyze investment in most of the Vision’s projects. Read more
