Institutions that promote transparency in Kenya

Transparency and Accountability Habitat through Information and Communication (Tachicom-Kenya) has a mission to support institutions and citizens to harness information, communication and IT solutions across all sectors for transparency and accountability through policy, management, development, maintenance, training and knowledge sharing. The following is a description of key institutions that are endeavoring towards transparency:

Transparency and Accountability Habitat through Information and Communication (Tachicom-Kenya)

Supports institutions and citizens to harness information, communication and IT solutions across all sectors for transparency and accountability through policy, management, development, maintenance, training and knowledge sharing. It conducts the bi-annual Kenya Information Transparency Index (KITI) and the annual Kenya Women Uwazi Awards among other initiatives.

The Mars Group

The organisation raises awareness

on corruption and builds demand for accountability, in particular through its website which offers interactive forums, corruption reports, access to selected government reports. An online corruption hotline system is currently in development.

African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption Kenya (APNAC)

APNAC is active in capacity-building

of parliamentarians, information campaigns, promotion of anti-corruption legislation and establishing a legal framework for free elections.

Centre for Corporate Governance (CCG)

The CCG is a private organisations promoting the adoption of good practice in corporate governance through training, education, research, advocacy, monitoring and

evaluation.

Centre for Law and Research International Kenya

(Clarion Kenya)

Clarion Kenya aim to make public

institutions more accountable and responsive to citizens’ needs and make publications on corruption accessible on its website.

Transparency International Kenya

Advocacy and public awareness, in

particular, it publishes the Eastern Africa Bribery Index every year, which captures corruption trends in the region.

Africa Center for Open Governance (AFRICOG)

Provides cutting edge research and monitoring on governance and public ethics issues in both public and private sectors so as to address the structural causes of the crisis of governance in the country.
