Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy

Transparency and Accountability Habitat through Information and Communication (Tachicom-Kenya) has a mission to support institutions and citizens to harness information, communication and IT solutions across all sectors for transparency and accountability through policy, management, development, maintenance, training and knowledge sharing.

As a responsible habitat of the global community:

       a) We believe that the long-term future of our habitat is best served by respecting the interests of all our stakeholders: Employees, Customers, institutions, citizens, partners, donors and the community.

         b) Our CSR policy sets out the principles we observe and the initiatives we have undertaken and will undertake with a view to supporting our CSR ethos.

        c)  Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility is a roadmap in the course of which we aim to align our habitat Vision and mission, PRIDE values, purpose and strategy with the social and economic needs of our stakeholders, whilst embedding responsible and ethical business policies and practices into everything we do.

In doing so we:

d) Recognize that our social, economic and environmental responsibilities to these stakeholders are integral to our business. We aim to demonstrate these responsibilities through our actions and within our corporate policies.

e) Seriously take all feedback that we receive from our stakeholders and, where possible, maintain open dialogue to ensure that we fulfill the requirements outlined within this policy.

f) Embrace openness and honesty in communicating our strategies, targets, performance and governance to our stakeholders in our continual commitment to sustainable development, transparency and accountability.

Responsibility:

g) The Managing Director (CIS) is responsible for the implementation of this policy and will make the necessary resources available to realize our corporate responsibilities. The responsibility for our performance on this policy rests with all employees throughout the habitat.

Commitment of Values:

We recognize that we must integrate our habitat values and operations to meet the expectations of our stakeholders.

Our Principles as enshrined in our philosophy:

·                      Respect for values and humanity,

·                      Information as a resource and empowerment tool,

·                      Proactive disclosure of information that can make Kenya transparent and accountable,

·                      We manage our habitat with pride and integrity,

·                      We will continually benchmark and evaluate what we do in order toimprove   our CSR performance.

·         Environment policy statement

We will take all reasonable steps to manage our operations so as to minimise our environmental impact and to promote good environmental practice. We will review regularly our business practices and performance to identify how we can improve our energy efficiency and reduce water usage and waste disposal.
